Our Commitment to Integrity: A Stand Against mRNA Vaccines

We wanted to take a moment to chat with you about a topic that's close to our hearts here at Meadowvale Farmstead - the health of our livestock and, by extension, the integrity of our products. 

In recent years, there's been a lot of buzz about mRNA vaccines in agriculture, and we field a lot of questions. Today, we're clearly laying out our position on this matter, because transparency with you, our community, is something we hold dear.

Why We Say No to mRNA Vaccines

At Meadowvale, our livestock - our cows, chickens, pigs, and goats - are raised with the utmost care and respect for their natural biological processes. For that reason, we've made a conscious decision to steer clear of mRNA vaccines for our animals. Here's why:

- Natural Immunity: We believe in bolstering the natural immunity of our animals through a lifestyle that mirrors what nature intended. This means fresh air, open pastures, and a diet free from synthetic inputs. By nurturing their immune systems the old-fashioned way, we aim for a robust, resilient herd.

- Health Over Hype: There's a lot we still don't know about the long-term effects of mRNA vaccines in livestock, and plenty of reason to be concerned about their use. We choose caution over jumping on the latest biotech bandwagon, prioritizing the well-being of our animals and the integrity of our products. We've been standing firm on this issue from day 1, and will continue to.

- Our Promise: When you choose our meat, dairy, or eggs, you're getting products from animals that have never been subjected to mRNA vaccines or, for that matter, any unnecessary drugs, hormones, or antibiotics. We’re all about clean, honest food and absolute transparency when it comes to our practices and management decisions. You have a right to know what is in the food on your plate.

Animal Health Doesn't Come From Pharma

Our approach to animal health is broad and holistic. 

• Pasture As Our Foundation: Our animals spend their days roaming on fresh pastures, which not only keeps them happy but also promotes soil health and biodiversity. This natural setting supports their physical and mental well-being, which makes an all around healthy, disease-resistant animal.

• Non-GMO Diet: They eat what they're meant to eat - grass for our cattle, bugs and greens for our chickens, sprouted barley and peas with milk and veggie scraps for our pigs. No genetically modified organisms here, ever. No pesticide and herbicide drenched commodity crops, either. We steer away from soy and corn.

• Stress-Free Living: We design our farming practices to minimize stress, ensuring our animals live in conditions that are as close to their natural habitat as possible. We use gentle handling techniques, taking our time and working with the animal's psychology to get things done. Happy, stress-free animals are healthy animals.

• Traditional Genetics: We base our livestock genetics on hardy heritage breeds that have withstood the test of time, and then further select for natural resistance and resilience in our breeding programs, rather than relying on constant medical interventions.
